Queenstown

Queenstown is small, quaint, and clean. The people are very nice. The food is very expensive! I ventured into town.
And decide to do this:
But no way I was doing this:
Saw today on the news that Fiji has flooding and an epidemic of Dengue fever, so it's just as well that it didn't fit into the travel plan this time. Everything happens for a reason.

The Long Tour

Ola mi familia! After 3 flights, I have arrived in Queenstown.  I am 18 hours ahead of Washington DC time. I think I slept for 10 or more hours once I checked into the hotel and got something to eat. Queenstown is a pretty city on Lake Wakatipu, although a bit cold, wet and foggy. It reminds me of Seattle and Portland and the Oakland hills.

There is a bit of diversity also- Asian, Indian, Fijian.  I could  absolutely live here in a house on a hill with a view of the lake. The challenge would be getting used to the driving- opposite side drivers seat, opposite side of the road. I had water activities planned, but so cold and windy I will just head into town and walk around.
